Annie who?

You know, Annie, the blonde one that worked with thing-a-me-ma-bobber on the Comms Plan last year?

Ah, yeah. Annie. What about her?

Well, she changed her name.

To what?

Annie Hendry.

Oh. Did she get married then…. or divorced? Maybe she’s gone into witness protection?

I’m not sure. But she looked really happy. And she’s got new branding.

Oh. Cool.

I did try and fly under the radar with my name change. Like many people, I prefer to keep some parts of my life private but it’s quite tricky not to mention it when your name is your brand.

So, I thought about it for a while. I wrote stuff, I deleted it. I wrote some more stuff. Then I took a step back… no further back than that…. and I tried to think like an outsider rather than me.

I reminded myself that messaging should always be simple, and this is what I came up with.

I have a new name.

I have new branding.

I’m very happy about both those things.

From October I will have availability to take on new client projects.
